Four mice and four cats in the same carton is a story with tension in it before anyone has invented a word of dialogue. Fritz, Ella, Zoe and Rose arrive next to Bert, Bree, Phoebe and Nibbles, and how that goes is up to whoever is holding them.

All eight have posable heads, arms and legs and the soft flocked finish, and the clothing swaps freely across both families — which is how a mouse ends up in a cat's dress as a disguise. Both sets fit every environment on this site.

This is a paired box rather than a new idea: the mouse and cat families, packed together. Honey Bee Acres normally sells its animal families and playsets individually, and the pairs exist for the moment when one present has to do the work of two — here that means eight characters, two surnames and an immediate reason for visits. Nothing inside is exclusive to the pair; each half is the same box sold on its own elsewhere in the line, with the same three-inch poseable figures, the same interchangeable clothing and furniture and accessories at the one scale this flocked animal toys world has kept for years.

Honey Bee Acres is made and distributed by Sunny Days Entertainment. It belongs to a tradition of flocked animal toys that reached collectors from Japan decades ago and has barely changed since: round ears, soft coats and furniture cut to fit. Boxes are sold individually, so the village grows one at a time, and every poseable three-inch character shares the clothing, furniture and accessories of the whole line — one scale this animal toys world has held to for years.
