Four dogs, one orchard morning

Honey Bee Acres The Barksters Dog Family

Cooper and Cooper walk their two pups down to Cider Orchards before the dew burns off, and by the time the baskets are half full Gus and baby Theo have eaten more apples than they picked.

One box from the Honey Bee Acres line of flocked animal family playsets.

What is in the box

Figures	4 flocked dogs: 2 parents, 2 kids
Posable	Head, arms and legs
Outfits	Removable and interchangeable
Ages	3 and up

The box holds four flocked dogs — two parents and two kids — and every one of them has a posable head, posable arms and posable legs, so the family can crouch over a basket, reach for a branch or sit in a row on a windowsill. The printed outfits come off, which is how a quiet afternoon turns into a fashion afternoon without anyone needing new toys.

Baby Theo is the one who gets carried around the house in a pocket. He is small enough for that and sturdy enough to survive it, and because the clothing swaps with every other figure on this lane, he can borrow an outfit from a cow or a cat whenever the story calls for a disguise.

The Barksters are the household most shelves start with, and they explain the whole line in one box. Honey Bee Acres animal families are sold individually rather than bundled, so a village grows a household at a time, and every building on this site is built to receive them: cottages, school, shops and trucks all take three-inch poseable figures, with furniture and accessories cut to the same scale. Four dogs give a child four unique characters to move through that world at once.

Honey Bee Acres is made and distributed by Sunny Days Entertainment. It belongs to a tradition of flocked animal toys that reached collectors from Japan decades ago and has barely changed since: round ears, soft coats and furniture cut to fit. Boxes are sold individually, so the village grows one at a time, and every poseable three-inch character shares the clothing, furniture and accessories of the whole line — one scale this animal toys world has held to for years.
